It is between 11th and 12th century that was build a castle on a spur girds by the river around of which are laid out in a regular way the dwellings with the slate roofs. The men and the cattle penetrated in the village by the Old Gate, single opening within the ramparts.
Later, in particular at the 16th century, other doors were open like the Postern or Portanelle.
This village, classified among most beautiful of France, enjoys a particularly rich environment forests, lakes, rivers where all the leisures of full nature are allowed: fishing, the excursion, center VTT of Salveta proposes 300km marked tracks.
