Be better for better living.
Commune in high Orbvalley , taken
care by the tops of Escandorgue and Méguillou, in the beginning,
consisted of two small villages: Bousquet de Grajau and Saint Martin
de Clémenson and hamlets: the Mazage of Fontenilles and Cazilhac.
These villages industrialo-mining and glass-maker became common
in 1884 to the favour of the exploitation of the richnesses of the
grounds and basements. The coal mining is posterior with the opening
of the mines, it is the abbot Martel who tried the first the coal
mining in order to feed the existing glassmaking and which ran on
wood. In the area, this industry was very flourishing. This part
of the high valley of Orb knew an industrial extension which lasted
until 1960, date marking the closing of the glassmaking (1955/56)
then the decline of the mines.
In spite of the end of this glorious time, the village preserves
its natural attractions.
