Formerly, there is very very long time, this territory was covered with an immense forest, the forest of Albières, where wolves proliferated! But it is told here that the first traces of the vineyard go up in Charlemagne and that the culture of the vine continued throughout the history. Today, on the sides of the slopes, the pieces of vine gained on the Mediterranean maquis open out under a soft and hot climate, sheltered winds, benefitting from the exceptional properties of the schistous ground. It's for that that a high-class wine bears name of this village.
